Rugby’s newest secondary school – Houlton School – is set to feature on BBC One TV programme ‘Dom Digs In’.

The programme, which is hosted by Dom Littlewood, will explore the construction of the brand-new Houlton School ahead of opening to its very first Year 7 pupils in September 2021.

Work begins to transform iconic Rugby radio building into Houlton School

Work has officially commenced on the transformation of Rugby Radio Station’s Grade II-listed building into the town’s newest secondary school, Houlton School.

The beginning of the significant construction programme will see the conversion of the former global radio transmission building into a new secondary school in the heart of the new community of Houlton.

Plans for Rugby’s newest secondary school have received praise after they were revealed to the public this week.
Houlton School will open in 2021 in the Grade II listed Rugby Radio Station building, which was the hub of global communications in the 1920s and surrounded by the iconic 820ft radio masts.
